CORBIN — Corbin’s Ellie Jane Carloftis turned in one of her best efforts in singles play against Clay County’s Mindi Bowling, winning 2-6, 6-2, 1(6) to highlight the Lady Redhounds’ 9-0 match play victory over the Lady Tigers.
“Ellie Jane Carloftis played one of her best matches at No. 1 singles,” Corbin coach Donnie Head said. “The match will help her going in to the regional seed meeting. Our No. 1 doubles beat a good Clay County doubles team. This was also a big match for the No. 3 seed in the region. Whatever hair on my head was not gray before tonight, is gray now. That's how close the two matches about were.”
