Three boys soccer games took place Saturday in the Tri-County while South Laurel was the lone girls soccer team from the Tri-County that played Saturday.
In boys’ action, Corbin fought to a 0-0 draw with visiting Danville while both South Laurel and Whitley County lost their matches. The Cardinals fell to Lincoln County, 4-0, while the Colonels dropped a 5-1 decision to Oneida Baptist.
Corbin 0, Danville 0
Corbin picked up its second tie on the season and is now 8-5-2 after hooking up in a scoreless draw with Danville. The Redhounds are 1-3-1 during their past five games and has been shut out three times this season. They also picked up their sixth shut out on the season as well.
Oneida Baptist 5,
Whitley County 1
The Colonels saw their record drop to 8-8 on the season after losing to Oneida Baptist, 5-1. The Colonels are now 2-3 during their last five games while dropping to 3-4 against regional opponents.
Lincoln County 4, South Laurel 0
The Cardinals’ struggles continued at home Saturday with Lincoln County handing South Laurel a 4-0 loss. South Laurel has now been shut out 10 times this season, including its last three games, as the Cardinals saw their record go to 2-15-1 on the season and 0-8-1 during their last nine games.
South Laurel’s last win came on Sept. 9, a 7-0 victory over Middlesboro.
South Laurel 4, East Carter 3
The Lady Cardinals finished the regular season in fine fashion, picking up a 4-3 win at home over East Carter while improving to 11-4-2 during the process.
Karli Parker had four goals in the win, pushing her season total to 43 on the season. Julie Fouts and Kristen White each had assists during the one-goal victory.
