KNOX CENTRAL — The Lynn Camp Lady Wildcat tennis team opened their season with a 11-1 loss to Knox Central, but coach Terry Jones said he has seen a lot of improvement since his team’s first practice, which could lead to future wins for his program.

“It was our girls first match of the season,” he said. “It was great for our first-year girls to get out there and get some match experience. It showed us some things that we need to work on, but I also got to see a lot of improvement from our first day of practice.

“For our returning players, it was great to get back out on the court,” he added. “We are a very young team with only one senior and one junior. Our future is very bright for our program going forward with so many players in the elementary school. They are really enjoying the game and are very eager to learn.”
