FORT WALTON BEACH, FLA. — North Laurel finished its trip in the Fort Walton Beach Classic with two straight wins while going 3-2 overall during its stay in Florida.

Osborne decided to go with Mikayla Vires on the mound and the freshman hurler didn't let her down. She picked up the win while allowing only three hits and struck out three batters.
Kailin Yantz and Vanessa Smith had a couple of hits along with Farris Strong during the win.
“Mikayla pitched great,” Osborne said. "I wanted to give her a chance and see how the team responded with her on the mound and they did a great job making the plays behind her. We only made one error.
“Kailin, Vanessa and Farris continue to hit well for us,” she added. “I thought we did well.”
