CHS bowling team improves to 9-4 with weekend win

CORBIN— The Corbin High School bowling team improved its record to 9-4 on the season with a 7-0 sweep of East Jessamine Sunday, winning the series 2,425 to 2,121.

Corbin coach Kenny Kysar said he was pleased with the effort and how his team was able to put together a complete effort.

“Tremendous showing from my guys today as they put it all together and dominated an entire match from beginning to end against a tough East Jessamine team,” Kysar said. “We've struggled with slow starts all year, but today was a turning point as all my boys pitched in for a total team effort.

“Pushes our record to 9-4 as we host Lynn Camp in our season finale Sunday Jan 20th before hosting the region 8 tourney Jan 26-27,” he added.

In game one the A team came out on top 439 to 401, while in game two it picked up a 480-448 win. Corbin’s B team cruised to a 591-499 victory

Corbin cruised to the win in the series total, 2,425 to East Jessamine’s 2,121.

The high games for the Redhounds were by Matthew Brown with a 225 and a 198. Brian Nantz bowled a 193, Kory Morrisa had a 184 and Zack Waltz finished with a 181.
