SOMERSET — The Lake Cumberland Holiday Classic in Somerset opened on Friday as the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets took the Somerset Briar Jumpers to overtime, but the Briar Jumpers prevailed 60-59 in first round action.
Williamsburg's Andrew Griffith and Corey Shelton combined for 44 points, but it wasn't enough as Ryan Dishman poured in 26 points to lead Somerset to the victory.

The Jackets entered second round action in Somerset against Central High School out of Louisville on Saturday night and was unable to come away with the victory, falling by a score of 67-44.
Coach Patrick Robinson commented on the competition his team has faced to this point in the tournament.
"We are playing really tough competition," Robinson said. "I hope this pays off in the long run. We are going to keep our nose to the grind and get ready for district play."
Corey Shelton led the Jackets in scoring in the contest with 19 points.
Louisville Central's Stephen Gober and Ashante Madden each had 14 points to lead the way in scoring on the evening.
Williamsburg will resume tournament action until Monday.

The South Laurel Cardinals are participating in the Lake Cumberland Holiday Classic and lost by a 55-52 score to George Rogers Clark in the first round on Friday, but recovered with a 64-59 win against Prestonsburg on Saturday and will continue tournament action until Monday.
The win moves the Cardinals to 5-5 on the season.
The tournamnet is featuring teams from various class sizes and several regions throughout Kentucky.
