Instructor Baba Charles Miller led children in an African drum song during a final showcase for the week-long Kids College Art Camp at Union College.
The Kids College Art Camp is open to children ages 4 to 16. This year’s theme was “Music Makes The World Go Round,” and the 73 campers were exposed to music and instruments from Africa, Appalachia and Native America.
Campers were treated with fantastic storytelling of tall tales enhanced by music and song to fuel a child’s imagination. They learned to sing and dance in Cherokee and square dance to live fiddle music.
