CHS newspaper among best in state

Student paper places third overall at state convention

Forty-four Kentucky schools won journalism awards in the annual Kentucky High School Journalism Association contest and Corbin High School won second place overall among Class 2A school newspapers and third place overall among Class 2A broadcast competitions.

The results were announced Wednesday at the annual KHSJA state convention in Louisville. Students and schools compete among school newspapers, yearbooks and broadcast programs.

Among Class 2A schools in newspaper, Pike County Central High School took first place, Corbin High School was second, and Danville High School captured third place.

In Class 2A schools,’ broadcast competition, Henry County High School won first, Elizabethtown High School captured second and Corbin High School was third.

More than 700 Kentucky high school journalism students and teachers representing all regions of the state attended the annual convention this past Tuesday and Wednesday in Louisville. KHSJA was founded 11 years ago by the Frankfort-based Kentucky Press Association.
