Carl L. Harbison, 84, of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at his residence.
He was the son of the late Neil and Mary Halvorson Harbison, born March 28, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio. He was a retired security guard with American Greeting Corp. and of the Lutheran faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving his country in WWII. He participated in the action against the enemy at Iwo Jima at Volcano Island. He also participated in the occupation of Japan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Neil Harbison; mother, Mary Halvorson Harbison; brothers, Bob Harbison and Neil Harbison; and sister, Mary Idella Shutz.
There is no visitation or funeral service. The family has chosen cremation.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Sturgill Harbison, of Corbin; sons, Mike Harrison (Mrs. Sandy) of Jacksonville, Fla., Greg Harbison of Jacksonville, Fla. and Steve Rose of Corbin; daughters, Melissa Nelson of Corbin, Lisa Curtner (Mr. Zaron) of Corbin, and Audrey Russel (Mr. John) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

Cecil Shelton Meadors, 88, of North Little Rock, Ark. went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
Larry Wayne Rogers, 65, passed away Monday night, March 8, 2010. Born December 6, 1944, in Faber, Ky., he was the son of the late Everett and Daisy Rogers. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
