Michael Wayne Phillips “Huggie,” 62, of Corbin, went to be with our Lord on Nov. 22, 2012, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Michael was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Corbin. Michael was a retired CSX Railroad employee. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Sinkhorn Phillips, and father, Jessie Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Delois Davis Phillips; daughters, Brandi (Justin) Baker, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Kristi (David) Delk, of Corbin; granddaughters, Whitley Amanda Joy Baker, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Kinley Lois and Kelsey Lola Delk, of Corbin; one sister, Carolyn Yeager, of Danville; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Max Cox and Rev. Chad Fugitt officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with full military rites by the D.A.V. Chapters 158 & 66.
Pallbearers will be Justin Baker, David Delk, Casey Young, Kyle Young, Jason Woodwork, Jason Faulkner and Chris Drinnon. Honorary pallbearers are former and current employees of CSX Railroad.
The family of Michael Phillips will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
