Mrs. Gertrude (Cox) Delk, age 91, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Gertrude entered into this life on Jan. 23, 1922, in Corbin, the daughter of Tom and Rana Tankersley Cox, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Hubert Delk and they shared a wonderful life together. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Pentecostal Church, where she taught Sunday school.
Gertrude will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sue Price, of Corbin; her son-in-law, Walter Herren Jr., of London; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Delk, her son, Phillip Wayne Delk, her daughter, Sheila Lynn Herren, her parents, Tom and Rana Tankersly Cox, three brothers, Henry, Richard and Ernest Cox, and her sister, Sue Heath.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Delk will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Elliot and the Rev. Tony Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Gertrude Delk will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, from 6-9 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.
