Ricky Edward Blankenship, 53, of Corbin, was born in Whitley County on Feb. 1, 1959, to Violet Vaughn Blankenship and the late John Blankenship Jr., and departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
In addition to his father, two brothers preceded him in death, John Blankenship III and William Harrison and an uncle, Jack Blankenship.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of more than 13 years, Janice Blankenship, of Corbin; his mother, Violet Blankenship, of Corbin; three daughters, Ashley Earls and husband Zack, Porshia Blankenship and Jordan “Bug” Blankenship, all of Corbin; two brothers, Darrell Blankenship and Ronnie Sullivan and wife Katherine, all of Corbin; three sisters, Janrose Ball and husband Donald, of Williamsburg, Velvet Mitchell and Lynn Smith and husband Johnny, all of Corbin; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Noe and Jacob Earls; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation was Tuesday. Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Blankenship were held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Johnson and Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Burial followed in the Phipps Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with the expenses.
