Mary Kreft


Mary Ellen Kreft, 83, of Corbin, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at The Heritage Nursing Home.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Martin and Audra Rowland Schachle, born March 1, 1929, in Cordell, Okla. She was a housewife and a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Martin Schachle; mother, Audra Rowland Schachle; husband, Robert Dale Kreft; and sisters, Marian Venters and Patsy Daughtery.

She is survived by her son, Martin P. Kreft (Janet Lynn), of Corbin; daughter, Marilynn Kay Kreft, of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Charles Schachle Jr., of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Rosa Schachle, of Dallas, Texas, and Charlene Chaney, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Justin Paul Kreft, of Raleigh, N.C., and Bethany Kreft Alcorn, of Richmond; and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

To the Mary Ellen Kreft family, the staff of the Corbin Funeral Home would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.

Memorial services will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the Corbin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Ft. Luster National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Mich.

The family of Mary Ellen Kreft will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.
