Mrs. Ruth Creekmore Ball, age 88, widow of Lloyd, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at her home.
Ruth entered into this life on Oct. 10, 1924 in Jellico, Tenn., the daughter of Walter and Cewall Gilreath Creekmore, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to the late Lloyd Clifford Ball, and they shared a wonderful life together. Ruth was a retired hairdresser and was an active member at Central Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, cooked in the kitchen, was involved with Sunday school and was a part of the Golden Fifties.
Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda Joyce Ball, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jenith Anne Cowley, William Edward Cowley, IV (Tina), and Robert Lloyd Reilman (Mindi); six great-grandchildren, Ross Moberly, Austin Blacklidge, Devin James Richter, Elijah Foltyn Cowley, William Edward Cowley V (Liam) and Hunter Robert Reilman; three sisters, Edna Croley, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Mildred Gragg, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Imogene Nunnally, of Orlando, Fla.; and a host of friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Clifford Ball; her parents, Walter and Cewall Gilreath Creekmore; and her brother, Hubert Creekmore.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Ball will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, with Bro. Ron Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell, Tenn.
Visitation for Mrs. Ruth Ball will be held on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, from 9:45 a.m. until time of service at Central Baptist Church.
