Betty Mae Hinkle, of Corbin, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the Christian Health Center. She was 82 years, 11 months, 21 days of age. Betty was born on Oct. 1, 1930, in Boone, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hinkle and mother Reta Caudill. Betty was a member of Central Baptist Church and Christian Homemakers Sunday School Class. Betty and her husband Paul were founders of Hinkle Printing Company in 1966. She worked avidly until her retirement in 1983.
Betty is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda H. Platt (Joe), of Somerset; son and daughter-in-law, Benny Hinkle (Kathy), of Corbin; five grandchildren, Kevin Platt (Laura), of Burlington, Leslie Whitaker (Billy), of Lexington, Chrissi Cuel (Daniel), of Woodbine, Bryan Hinkle (Jessica), of Corbin, and Kalley Petrey, of Woodbine; seven great-grandchildren: Warner Platt, Maren Platt, Abby Whitaker, Ashley Whitaker, Kylie Beth Cuel, Bryan Kraig Cuel and Lexi Petrey. Also, she leaves behind many friends, all to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Platt, Bryan Hinkle, Billy Whitaker, Daniel Cuel, Lanny Petrey, and Mike Martin. Honorary Pallbearers are Christian Homemakers Sunday School Class.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Christian Health Center for taking such loving care of Betty during her stay.
