Nannie Roberts

CORBIN —

Nannie Mae Roberts, of Paint Creek Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Williamsburg Health and Rehab Center in Williamsburg. She was 86 years, 3 months, and 10 days of age. She was born on Dec. 15, 1927, in Coopersville to the late John Logan Vaughn and Jane Louis Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Roberts; son, Dennie Maxwell Roberts; daughter, Virginia Sue Roberts; and five sisters. She was a member of Briar Creek Church of God.

She is survived by two sons, Russell Roberts (wife Christine), of Winchester,  and Cecil Roberts (wife Wanda), of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren, Karen Butler, of  Houston, Texas, Danny Roberts, of Williamsburg, Pam Sulfridge (Vince), of Williamsburg, Mike Roberts (Kim), of Williamsburg, Tim Roberts (Stephanie), of Corbin, Laura Hubbard (Jason), of Corbin, and Amy Bowman (Jonathan), of Williamsburg: 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandsons, one twin sister, Nina Coffey, of Rocky Branch; special friend and neighbor, Berta Meadors, of Jellico Creek; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Moses and the Rev. Elmer Parks officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Jellico Creek Cemetery in Williamsburg.

Pallbearers will be Mike Roberts, Chandler Roberts, Lathen Roberts, J. Bowman, Jason Hubbard, Vince Sulfridge, Travis Sulfridge, and Dustin Sulfridge. Honorary pallbearers will be  Tim Roberts and Danny Roberts.
