Betty Jo Patrick

CORBIN — Betty Jo Patrick, of Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  She was 86 years and 24 days of age. She was born on Feb. 11, 1928, in Whitley County to the late Hayes Petrey and Minnie Veach Petrey.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Frank Patrick.  

Mrs. Patrick was a member of Main Street Baptist Church for more than 74 years.

She was a longtime business partner with her husband Joe and they were very successful in their business ventures. She taught Sunday school for many years, was the leader of the Royal Ambassadors; was a leader in Sunbeams, and was very caring and thoughtful to the elderly and shut-ins.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Patrick and his wife Jan, of Corbin, and Donnie Patrick and his wife Brenda, of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Tiffany Davis and her husband Jason, Amber Black and her husband Doug and Joseph Aaron Patrick, all of Corbin, the Rev. Donnie Bruce Patrick and his wife Debbie Jo of LaGrange, Sherry Taylor and her husband Randal, of Williamsburg, and Robin Prichard and her husband Terrell, of Lexington; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Jimmy Byrd and his wife Sylvia, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Denny Byrd and his wife Jo, of Williamsburg; sister-in-laws, Fannie Owens, of Mason, Ohio, Goldie Carpenter, of Clarkston, Ga., and Bobbie Clay of Lexington; special sister-in-law for more than 53 years, Doll Petrey Rogers, of Williamsburg; very special friends and business partners for over 40 years, Terry and Marion Forcht of Corbin; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m.  Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m.  until the funeral hour on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Main Street Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Main Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Bruce Patrick and the Rev. Bill Wright officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Davis Addition of Highland Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Main Street Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 232, Williamsburg, Kentucky  40769.
