Laura Young

CORBIN —

Laura Belle Young, 96, of Evarts,  formerly of the Yaden Community, passed away Tuesday March 19, 2013, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harlan. She was born April 3, 1916 in Whitley County to the Late Rev. Charlie Steely and the late Martha White Steely. She was a member of Yocum Creek Baptist Church in Evarts and she also had been a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Young, six brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three daughters Norma Pryor and husband Clarence, of Evarts, Marjorie Hatfield and husband Danny, of Amelia, Ohio, and Betty Smith, of New Richmond, Ohio, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Eugene Steely and Don Steely, both of Dayton, Ohio , sisters-in-law Liz Krause of Allegan, Mich., Laura Steely, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Donna Young of Williamsburg, Mary Carr of Corbin,  several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg with Rev. Paul White and Rev. Gary Lee Steely officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour Friday.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carr Cemetery in the Yaden Community, Williamsburg.
