Charles MacArthur Couch, of Holly Grove Road, Corbin, departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Baptist Health ER, Corbin. He was 71 years old. He was born on Jan. 8, 1943, in Leslie County, to the late Chester Arthur Couch and Verna Lee Maize.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt Chloe, and his grandparents, John and Lula Couch. He was a teacher at the South Laurel Middle School for 27 years and drove a school bus for 27 years. He was a member of the Corbin Gospel Temple Church of God and a Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Sutton Couch, of Corbin; his daughter, Virginia Couch and friend, Brian of Knoxville, Tenn.; his daughter, Jennifer Williams and son-in-law Gerald, of Corbin; his son, John Couch and daughter-in-law, Nicole, of Richmond; his son, Chester Couch and daughter-in-law, Victoria, of Corbin; his stepson, Kevin Reams, of Corbin; six grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Zachary Couch, Caitlyn Williams, Lindsey Couch, Tiffany Couch and Jonna Lynn Couch; Sherry Cox, mother of his children; family pets, Patches, Zoey, Smokey, Whiskers, Cam, Callie and Lucy; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday, April, 16, 2014, at Corbin Gospel Temple Church of God on Scuffletown Road, Corbin.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the Corbin Gospel Temple Church of God with the Rev. Jerome Cox officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Chappell Cemetery at Corbin.
Pallbearers: Dewayne Martin, Charles Kersey, Jeremy Morgan, Rick Jackson, and Gerald Williams, and Brian Blind.
