George Manus, age 78, of Rockholds, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 1, 1935 in McCreary County, to the late James Russell Manus and the late Sarah Ellen Rutherford Manus.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Manus, and two brothers, R.V. Manus and J.T. Manus.
He is survived by one daughter, Pauline Miller (Marvin), of New Carlisle, Ohio; three sons, Chris Manus (Tanja), of Lebanon, Tenn., Rick Manus (Shannon), of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jeff Manus, of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Eric Miller, Adam Miller, Sarah Manus, Amanda Manus, Tia Glanding, Brian Glanding, Katie Glanding, Jenna Manus and Julia Manus; four great-grandchildren, Jansen, Brayden, Colin and Anna Belle; two sisters, Thelma Griffith, of Toledo, Ohio, and Hattie Lambdin, of Elizabethtown; three brothers, L.B. Manus, of Clyde, Ohio, Elbert Manus, of Williamsburg, and Lee Manus, of Oxford, Ga.; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg with the Rev. Roger Wells officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Davis Cemetery at Rockholds.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg.
