Kathleen Hart, 86, of Corbin, passed away peacefully Sunday night, May 12, 2013, at her home where she was surrounded by her loving family. A beloved mother and grandmother, she was aptly described as a pristine woman who treated everyone fairly and kindly, always offering food and hospitality to any visitor. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and actively involved in the WMU.
Born April 21, 1927, in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Laura Roaden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Hart; one child, Patricia Ann Hart; five brothers: Roy Roaden, Archie Roaden, Jennings Roaden, Bronce Roaden and Coyt Roaden; and two sons-in-law: Kenneth Cornn and James D. Hatcher.
Survivors include two daughters: Janice Hatcher and Gladys Cornn, both of Corbin; three sons: Russell Hart and wife Edith, of Lily, Eric Hart and wife Lisa, of London, and Emmett Hart Jr., of Corbin; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; brother-in-law, Johnny Hart and wife Wiladene, of Mount Washington, and sister-in-law, Nannie Hart Moore, of Corbin, as well as several nieces and nephews and countless friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 748 Oak Grove Church Road Corbin, with the Rev. Vernon Morris and Andy Cornn officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
The family of Kathleen Hart will receive friends from 6 -9 p.m. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin. Also, visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
