Shirley Junior Lawson, of Williamsburg, departed this life on Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was 84 years, 7 months, and 27 days of age. He was born on Sept. 7, 1928, in Whitley County to the late Bud Lawson and Maude Rains. He was a member of the Mount Ash Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella Stephens Lawson, of Williamsburg; four daugthers, Martha Adkins (Jessie), of North Carolina, Josephine Teague (Ralph), of Duff, Tenn., Shirley Faust, of Williamsburg, and Lisa Lawson, of Lexington; five sons, Mark Edward Lawson, Phillip Lawson, Earl Lawson, Curtis Lawson (Mary), and Eddie Wayne Lawson, all of Williamsburg; Terry Stephens (Lynn), of Corbin; 24 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Junior Nichols officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Croley Addition of the Highland Park Cemetery.
