Mrs. Nina Mae Mills, age 77, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Nina entered into this life on Oct. 5, 1936, in Salt Gum, the daughter of George “Hoot” and Tressie Bargo Jordan, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, spending her days loving and caring for her family. Nina was united in marriage to Lewis Mills and they shared 57 wonderful years together. She was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of gardening, sewing, canning, flowers and most of all being a loving mother and wife.
Nina will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Lewis Mills, of Corbin; her son: Douglas Mills; three daughters: Maxola Mills, Wanda Lee (Robert) and Betty Burnett (Doug); three grandchildren: Christopher Burnett, Ashley Mills and Amy Gambrel; four great- grandchildren: Payton Burnett, Paisley Burnett, Ethan Gambrel and Nolan Gambrel; one brother: Arvil Jordan (Nellie); two sisters: Wilma Caudill and Laquota Gosby (Carl) and a host of friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: RJ Jordan and Terry “Cotton” Jordan and two sisters: Dorothy Jordan and Lily Rose Jordan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Mills will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Joe Eaton and Bro. Jimmy Bargo officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Camp Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be: Bobby Bargo, Tommy Bargo, Harold “Rabbit” Jordan, James David Mills, James Miller and Chris Carwick.
Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, from 6-9 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.
