Kathy Alford

CORBIN — Kathy Sue Alford, 50 of Artemus, was born on Sept. 1, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio, to Patricia Ann Orr Alford and the late Robert Clinton Alford and departed this life on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in the Knox County Hospital.  She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, working in crafts, and time with her family, especially the children.

In addition to her father, Robert Alford, her brother-in-law, Sam Davis, paternal grandfather, George Alford Jr., and maternal grandparents Clarence and Samantha Orr, preceded her in death.

Kathy is survived by her loving mother, Patricia Ann Alford, of Artemus; her maternal grandmother, Toledo Alford, of Artemus; a dear and devoted friend, James Works; a son, Clinton James Works, of North Carolina; three  sisters: Robin Wells and husband Eddie, of Navarra, Fla., Tobie Davis and David Deaton, of Barbourville, and Tammy Wells and husband Steve, of Artemus; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Sturdivant officiating. Entombment will be private to the family. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour today (Monday).
