Larry Carver

CORBIN — Larry Wayne Carver, 64, of Corbin, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

He was born in Madisonville and was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Oather Thomas Carver and Edna Hartford Carver, and by a brother, Kirby Carver.

He is survived by his wife, Deadra D. Carver; children, Billy Reid, Tanya Ballard (Jimmy) and Courtney Carver (Brian Booth), all of Corbin; grandchildren, Lynlee Reid, Emma Smith, Scarlet Wilson, Alysa Reid, and Jeffery Reid, all of Corbin; brother, Craig Carver, of Madisonville; several nieces and by his canine companion, Sweetpea.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 88 of Corbin.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
