Lois Mae Peace, of Whetstone Road, Rockholds, departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the Jellico Community Hospital in Jellico, Tenn. She was 91 years, 1 month and 5 days of age. She was born on Aug. 13, 1922, in Harlan County to the late Jess Kinder and Rushia Crider Kinder.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Stub” Peace and a brother, Ernest Kinder.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Woods Patton (Farrel), of Rockholds; three granddaughters, Melody Lewis (Dale), of Corbin, Connie Davis (John David “Fee”), of Williamsburg, and Patsy Parker (Bobby), of Rockholds; four great-grandchildren, Jerry Allen Powers (Heather), Tarrah Perkins, Foster Sherman (Samantha) and Robert Parker; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Kinder (Lou) of Harlan; five sisters, Agnes Strunk, of Michigan, Juanita Winger (Kenneth), of Minnesota, Lela Burgess (Mitchell), of Harlan, Evelyn Jones (Marvin), of Orlando, Fla., and Shelby Jean Brock (Jesse), of Walton; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation was from noon until the service hour Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside Services were conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the Craigs Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Jerome Perkins officiating.
