Ray Logan, of Rockholds, departed this life on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home. He was 84 years of age. He was born on March 2, 1929, in Knox County, to the late Andrew and Eliza Logan. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from General Motors after 38 years of service as a welder in Dayton, Ohio. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ree Girdner Logan; one son, Carl Bruce Logan and wife Tammy, of Miamisburg, Ohio; two daughters, Denise Logan and special friend G.W. Miller, of Gray, and Teresa DeCarlo and husband Fred, of Rockholds; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Russell Logan and wife Clarice, of Corbin; one sister, Virginia Jackson and husband Homer Lee, of Barbourville; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Sowders officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Fairview-Hill Cemetery on Meadow Creek.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to WLJC in Beattyville to spread the word of the Gospel.
A military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Post 88 of Corbin.
