Katie Marie Mackey, of South Kentucky Avenue, Corbin, departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at her home. She was 80 years, 4 months and 26 days of age. She was born on Aug. 27, 1932, in Whitley County, to the late Isham Davis and Nannie Petrey Davis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Mackey; her son, Kenneth Wayne Mackey; one sister, Hazel Powers; and brothers, Berry Davis, Jerry Davis and James Robert Davis. She was a member of the Carpenter Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Edward Mackey, of Rockholds, Kevin Lee Mackey, of Barbourville, and Kirk Mackey, of Corbin; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie Davis, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Joie Powers, of Lick Fork Road; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Powers and the Rev. James Roark officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mackey Cemetery on Lick Ford Road.
