CORBIN — Mrs. Lois Jean Helton, age 85, of London, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at her home.

Lois entered into this life on Dec. 27, 1927, in Corbin, the daughter of Ed and Lottie Trosper Mullins, both of whom preceded her in death. She bravely served her country in the United States Air Force and retired from the American Greeting Card Company where she worked as an administrative assistant. Lois was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center, sewing, traveling and being detail oriented.

Lois will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Eugene Helton, of Corbin; two sons: Carl Huffman, of Corbin, and Wayne Edward Helton, of Corbin; two daughters: Karen K. Allen (Lonnie), of London, and Glenda Gail Powell, of Corbin; four grandchildren: Tina Huffman, Carley Wyrick, Eddie Wayne Huffman and Wesley Allen; two great-grandchildren: Derek Cooper and Melanie Helton; two sisters: Audrey Norvell, of Corbin, and Faye Burke, of Corbin; and a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Ernie Rose; a brother: Ralph Mullins; and two brothers-in-law: Kenneth Norvell and Delbert Burke.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Helton will be conducted on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Joe Eaton and Pastor Lynn Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Camp Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Greg Powell, Justin Wyrick, Tyler Moody, Wayne Helton, Austin Moore and Hunter Jervis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made to the Tri-County Hospice.
