CORBIN — The Rev. Horace Partin, of Skaggs Branch Road, Williamsburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning July 24, 2013. He was 77 years 10 months, 10 days of age.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Evelyn of over 54 years; three sons, Darrell Partin and wife Linda, of Naples, Fla., Denver Partin and wife Rhonda, of Williamsburg, and Greg Partin and wife Angel, of Corbin; seven grandchildren, Zachary Partin and wife Fernanda, of San Francisco, Calif., Lauren Partin, of Naples, Fla., Justin Partin and wife Ashley, of Corbin, Jared Partin, of Williamsburg, Matt Partin, of Corbin, Logan Partin, of Corbin, and Taylor Partin, of Corbin; one great-granddaughter, Kaia Partin, of San Francisco, Calif.; five sisters, Fay Lindsay and husband D.C., of Williamsburg, Shirley Patterson, of Lewisburg, W.Va., Ernestine Smith and husband Jim, of Jacksonville, Fla., Janice Sweet, of Corbin, and Vicki Lunsford and husband Jim, of Corbin; three brothers, Leon Partin and wife Carlee, of Williamsburg, James Partin, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Dean Partin and wife Janice, of Williamsburg; brother-in-law, Marshall Partin, of Williamsburg, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Nannie Partin, a sister, Helen Partin, sister-in-law, Doris Partin, and brother-in-law, Roy Patterson.

 He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge 490 F&A.M., a retired teacher from Whitley County High School, and a former pastor of Boston Baptist Church for over nine years, and pastor of Clearfork Baptist Church for 25 years.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Arnold Petrey, the Rev. George Peace and the Rev. Woody Jackson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Lot Mud Creek Cemetery following Military Graveside Honors conducted by the American Legion Post No. 88 of Corbin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clearfork Baptist Church Building Fund.
