Mr. Ralph Kenneth Jackson, age 80, of Barbourville, was born June 22, 1932 in Clay County to the late Perry and Elizabeth Jackson and departed this life on Monday, May 20, 2013 in the Barbourville Nursing Home. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in the yard and time with his family. On July 9, 1966, he was united in marriage with Mildred Hepsher and to this union, one child was born.
In addition to his parents, a daughter, Teresa Ann Epperson; a grandchild, Shawn Hoskins; and all siblings preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 46 years, Mildred Jackson, of Barbourville; four sons, Michael Ralph Jackson and wife Renee, Donald Ray Jackson, and Charles Edward Long and wife Marie, all of Barbourville, and Tony Curtis Jackson and wife Paulette, of Corbin; a daughter, Peggy Hoskins and husband Gerald, of Barbourville; seven grandchildren, Jessica Jackson, Kayla Jackson, Staci Jackson, Erin Jackson, Christy Austin, Allen Jackson and Willie Hoskins; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel Jackson, Madelyn Jackson, Karalee Jackson, Jade Jackson and Elyjah Lay; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Jackson will be conducted on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garrett Garland and the Rev. Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Lay Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Epperson, a special son-in law. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to the funeral hour at 2 p.m.
