Mabel Randall

CORBIN —

Mabel Irene Brock Randall, 92, passed away Jan. 1, 2013, at the Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif., with her daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Fred, at her side.

She was born in Corbin on Sept. 28, 1920, to the late Oscar Joseph Brock and Maude Jones Brock.

She graduated from Lily High School where she excelled in mathematics. After graduation she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was hired by Wrights during World War II to manufacture precision parts for aircraft engines. There she was trained by her future husband, James Randall. They were happily married for almost 63 years.

Irene loved bridge, golf and cooking. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She lived more than 40 years in Newtown, Ohio; retired to Sebring Fla.

 She also lived briefly in Texas, and spent the last six years of her life with Donna in California.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband, James; her sisters, Mary Cahall and Georgia Baird; and brothers Stenton, OJ and GS.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Fred) Barkehanai, and son, Ron (Penny) Randall; sisters, Betty Rose Comer and Juanita Ramsey; brother, Charles; grandchildren, Jeff and Kevin Barkehanai (California), Christina Alvarado, and Erin and Keith Randall (Texas); and eight great- grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 11, at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park in Forth Worth, Texas.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
