Elmer Perkins

CORBIN — Elmer Ray Perkins, of Beaver Creek, Ohio and formerly of Williamsburg,  departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home. He was 78 years, 7 months, and 23 days of age. He was born on Aug. 24, 1934, in Gatliff, to the late Woodrow W. Perkins and Florence Perkins. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jane (Shelton) Perkins; a grandson, Robert Kyle Perkins; and a brother, Carl T. Perkins. Mr. Perkins served in the United States Army and retired from General Motors after 36 years of service. He was an avid bowler and softball player.

He is survived by his sons, David Perkins, of Beavercreek, Ohio, Jeffrey Perkins, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Anthony (Gail) Perkins, of Springboro, Ohio; grandchildren, Joseph Perkins, of Hampton, Maine, Olivia, Emily, and Anna Perkins, all of Springboro, Ohio, and Nicholas and Taylor Carusone; sisters, Nora Sue (Bernard) Croley, of Williamsburg, Phyllis (Terry) Sherer, of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Ruby (Jack) Hilliard, of Orlando, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of many other friends to mourn his passing.

A visitation was held at the McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia, Ohio, from 5-7  p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be at noon . Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Peace officiating. He will be laid to rest in Whitley Memorial Gardens.
