Ella Canada Harris, of West Highway 204, Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Baptist Health in Corbin. She was 74 years, 11 months and 18 days of age. She was born on Feb. 11, 1939, in Whitley County to the late Rev. Melton Canada and Etta Mae Wingfield Canada. She was also preceded in death by her husband William Charlie Harris; a son, Jerry Wayne Harris, and brothers, J.B. Canada, Emery Canada, and the Rev. John Canada. She was a member of the Canadatown Holiness Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Darlene Rose (Les), of Corbin, Berniece Meadors (Randy), of Williamsburg, and Marilyn Harris, of Williamsburg; one son, Mike Harris (Elaine), of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Lora Rose, Jacob Rose, Derrick Meadors, Megan Rose, Cherish Harris, and Michael Wayne Harris; three great -grandchildren, Raley Meadors, Nolan Meadors, and Eli Jaxon Rose; two brothers, Clay Canada (Lois) and Dewey Lee Canada, of the Canadatown Community; two sisters, Elva Fyffe, of the Canadatown Community, and Dora G. Canada, of Hazel Park, Mich.; many loving nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg.
She will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Canadatown Holiness Church with the Rev. Ronald Canada officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Canadatown Cemetery in the Williamsburg, Kentucky.
