Dexter Jordan

CORBIN — Mr. Dexter “Joe” Jordan, age 71, of Canaan, Ind., formerly of Knox County, was born Aug. 21, 1941, to the late Clarence and Maudie Sizemore Jordan and departed this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the Baptist Hospital in Louisville.

In addition to his parents, a brother: Edd Jordan, of Michigan, and a sister: Jean Martin, of Corbin, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children: Alan Wayne Jordan, of Hamilton, Ohio, Larry Dale Jordan, of Fort Myers, Fla., Anthony Smith and Brittany Smith, of Manchester; a brother: Clarence Jordan Jr., of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister: Joann Jordan, of Knox County; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Dexter Jordan will be conducted on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bargo Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Saturday evening from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to the funeral hour at 2.
