Maria Chapman

CORBIN — Maria C. Chapman (nee Asher), 74, of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at her home. She was born April 19, 1939, in Beverly, and was a graduate of Red Bird High School. She worked at Union Central Life Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 38 years before her retirement.

She was the beloved wife of the late James G. Chapman; mother of the late Ramona C. Warren; mother-in-law of Ronald A. Warren; grandmother of Melissa N. Long (nee Warren) and husband Matt; Rebecca A. Schuster (nee Warren) and husband Christian; and Sarah K. Warren; great-grandmother of Ellie Ramona Long; daughter of the late Lucinda and Joseph Asher; sister-in-law of Beverly and Alan Chapman, Pamela and Lee Howard, Geraldine and Norman Chapman, Benita and Gwen Chapman, and Harlan and Maxine Caldwell who were also her best friends. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends, all who mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Greenwood (McCreary County). The family of Maria Chapman will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
