Mary Scott

CORBIN — Mary Joyce Norvell Scott, 78, formerly of Fort Thomas, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Heritage Hall Healthcare Center in Lawrenceburg. She was born May 5, 1935, in Knox County, to the late Newt and Ida Moore Norvell.

Mary was a graduate of Lynn Camp High School and a retired teller, cashier and customer service representative at Fort Thomas Bellevue Bank and a former part-time employee of Lawrenceburg National Bank. She was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church, the Gideon’s International Ladies Auxiliary Anderson County Camp, and a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Highland Heights for 40 years where she served as the financial treasurer.

Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Floyd Scott; two sons, David L. Scott (Jean), of Marietta, Ga., and Clifford W. Scott (Sherley), of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Stephanie Scott Hinderer (Scott), Laura, Joshua, and Maxwell Scott; a sister, Glennis Hensley, of Corbin; and a brother, James W. Norvell (Amelia), of Corbin; six nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11th, at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 12th, at the Lynn Camp Cemetery in Corbin.

Memorials are suggested to the Sand Spring Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon’s International, Anderson Co. Camp, P.O. Box 61, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
