Sylvia Cox

CORBIN —

Sylvia Loraine Cox, of Liberty School Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at her home. She was 69 years, 3 months, and 22 days of age.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1943, in McCreary County, to the late Ernest Cox and Mary Bryant Cox. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Cox Hatfield; sisters, Irene Cox, Vernice Cox and Nora Egan; and her brothers, Junior Cox, James Henry Cox, John Cox and Everett Cox. She was a member of Liberty Free Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Wayne Cox of Williamsburg; one granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Hatfield, of Jellico, Tenn.; two sisters, Pauline Ball, of Pine Knot, and Rosa Bolin, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Jimmy Willard Cox, of Williamsburg, and Kenneth Lee Cox of Xenia, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Shelby Cox, of Whitley City; a brother-in-law, Doyle Cox, of Williamsburg;  many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Caddell and the Rev. Earl Moses officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Bryant Cemetery.
