Garrett Teague Jr.

CORBIN — Garrett Gilbert Teague Jr., age 91, of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday Nov. 7, 2013 at Baptist Health Corbin in Corbin. He was born June 21, 1922 in Knox County, to the late Garrett Teague Sr. and the late Hila Lewellyn Teague. He was a graduate of University of Louisville Law School. He was past Commonwealth Attorney as well as Whitley County Attorney. Garrett practiced law for 33 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Marines.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy Teague, Kenneth Teague and Arvalee Teague, and four sisters, Charlsie Bradford, Gladys Taylor, Abbie Haun and Nancy Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Teague, of Williamsburg; two sons, Scott Kelly Teague (Linda), of London, and Clark Bradley Teague (Stacey), of Somerset; three grandchildren, MacKenzie Teague, of Williamsburg, Hagan Teague, of Somerset, Clay Teague, of Somerset; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at the Davis Addition of the Highland Park Cemetery with Dr. John Broome officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel in Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your local church.
