Robert Eggers

CORBIN — Robert Eugene Eggers, 77, of Locust Grove Road, Keavy, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Baptist Health Corbin.

He was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Caretta, W.Va. He was employed as a bank courier at Cumberland Valley National Bank. He was a member of Locust Grove Christian Church in Keavy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie (Ritter) Eggers and Carl Eggers; sisters, Marcella Eggers and Brenda Turpin; and brothers, Carl Eggers Jr. and George Eggers.

He is survived by his wife, Ora Faye (Cassidy) Eggers, of Keavy; daughter, Kathy Baird, of Corbin; sons, John Eggers (Tracey), of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Scott Eggers (Konni), of Los Angeles, Calif.; stepdaughters, Kathy Black (David), of Keavy, and Deana Hill (Sean), of Bellevue, Neb.; sister, Patsy Rakes, of Detroit, Mich.; brother, Charles Eggers, of Hastings, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, Troy Ramsey, Crystal June Baird, Ashley Eggers, Jessica Eggers, Sarah Eggers, Cody Roark, Makenzie Jones, Dalton Hill, Chace Roark, Abby Jones, Kaitlyn Eggers, Leah Eggers and Seana Hill; and one great-grandchild, Shelby Lorraine Baird.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at London Funeral Home Chapel with Robbie Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy. Pallbearers will be Steven Proffitt, Mike Proffitt, Sean Hill, David Black, Bobby Anders, Scott Eggers, John Eggers, Billy McKeehan and Cody Roark.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday) at London Funeral Home.

London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
