Beverly Kitchen

CORBIN — Beverly Slagle Kitchen, 78, of Naples, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Oak Tree Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Warren Slagle, born Feb. 27, 1932, in Harlan County. She was a restaurant owner and a member of the Lely Presbyterian Church in Naples, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Slagle; mother, Minnie Warren Slagle; husbands, John A. Dickerson and Forrest Kitchen; daughter, Phyllis Diane Bowring; brothers, Garnet Slagle, Robert Morris Slagle and Emmett C. Slagle; and sister, Ruby Hampton.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Dickerson Stewart (John) of Corbin; brothers, William Slagle of Fayetteville, Ga., and Bernard Slagle of Barbourville; sisters, Maggie Hopkins of Barbourville and Lois Buis of Barbourville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

To the Beverly Slagle Kitchen family, the staff of the Corbin Funeral Home would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Lely Presbyterian Church in Naples, Fla. with Rev. Stephan Nagy officiating. Burial will follow at Lely Memorial Gardens in Naples, Fla.

Corbin Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements, Byron L. Schiesz, director.
