Barbara Rose

CORBIN — Mrs. Barbara Rose, age 61, of Corbin, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Barbara entered into this life on Jan. 22, 1952 in Corbin, the daughter of Clarence and Fannie Sams Dixon, both of whom preceded her in death. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her two daughters: Darla Pennington (Jeff), of Independence, and Lora Slone (Jonathan), of London; five grandchildren: Alyssa Burke, Kayla Doan (David), Gavin Slone, Ethan Slone and Dewey Cahill; her great-grandson: Braxton Doan; four brothers: Russell Dixon (Carol), Allen Dixon (Martha), Joey Dixon (P.A.) and Billy Dixon; four sisters: Wilma Haggard, Doris Allen (Pete), Shirley Newby and Linda Burke (Frank); and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie V. Rose, and two brothers: Lonnie and Bill R. Dixon.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Sams-Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.
