James Tunstall

CORBIN — James Donald Tunstall, 82, of Woodbine, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Pineville Community Hospital.

He was retired truck driver from Consolidated Freightways, a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Corbin, a member of the Hugh Harris Masonic Lodge No. 938 F. & A.M. in Corbin and he was a US Army veteran of Korea.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Bethel and Odie Gilreath Tunstall, and by his siblings, Harry Tunstall, Shirley Carr, Gary Tunstall, and Warren Tunstall.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Jarboe Tunstall, whom he married on Jan. 31, 1953; son, Donald Tunstall, of Woodbine, grandchildren, Jason Tunstall and Jamie Tunstall, both of Franklin, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Peyton Webb, and Star Tunstall; special daughter-in-law, Marcia Monde; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

The funeral for Mr. Tunstall will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  

Burial will follow in the Perkins Cemetery in Woodbine with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 88 of Corbin.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday.
