James Dorman Holloway, of Williamsburg, departed this life on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tenn. He was 78 years, 4 months and 5 days of age. He was born on July 18, 1934, in Whitley County, to the late Dewey Holloway and Dorothy Moses Holloway. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Holloway and Earl Holloway; and one son, Darrell Holloway. He was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Corbin, and a member of the United Auto Workers Union.
He is survived by three children, Doug Holloway, of Williamsburg, Randy Holloway (Letha), of Liberty, Texas, and James R. Holloway (Karen), of Hohenwald, Tenn.; six grandchildren, James R. Holloway II, Rachel Holloway, Tabatha Holloway, Anthony Holloway, Taylor Holloway and Cameron Holloway; four great-grandchildren, Jaiden Holloway, Xavier Holloway, Nolan Smith and Gavin Smith; three sisters, Lavelle Phillips, of Taylor, Mich., Myrna Baird, of Norwood, Ohio, and Wanda Begley (Mac), of Williamsburg; one brother, Dude Holloway (Ruth), of Taylor, Mich.; special companion, Patches Holloway; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Holloway will lie in state at the church after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, until the funeral hour.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at the Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Corbin, with Rev. Craig Thomas officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Holloway Cemetery.
