Marvin Gross, 78, of Corbin, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William O. Gross and Rosie Stewart Gross, four sisters and two brothers.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Vada Gross. Marvin was the proud father of four children: daughters, Ramona (Jeff) Davis, of Corbin, Delaine (Brian) Thomas, of Carthage, Ind., Marva (Gary) Gambrel, of Corbin, and one son, Stephen (Vickie) Gross, of Warner Robins, Ga. He was the proud and loving grandfather of nine granddaughters, Andrea (Tyler) Robinson, Karlee Jaynes, Hannah, Hope and Rebekah Thomas, Myranda and Makayla Thomas, Danielle and Amber Gross. Marvin is survived by one brother, John L. (Janice) Gross, of Corbin, and many nieces and nephews. Marvin’s family and friends mourn his passing.
Marvin was retired from Whayne Supply after 30 years of service. He loved to hunt, fish, watch Kentucky basketball, and he was a skilled woodworking craftsman. One of his greatest joys in his life was spending time with his nine granddaughters. Marvin loved reading his Bible and attending church at Liberty Baptist, where he and his wife were members
The family of Marvin Gross will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home, located on Master Street in Corbin.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home with Reverends Keaton Smith and Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Immediately following the funeral service he will be laid to rest at Corinth Cemetery.
