Jacqueline Cooper

CORBIN — Jacqueline Wyrick Cooper, born March 2, 1925, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Kings Mountain, N.C.  She was the wife of the late Edgar Mauney Cooper, Pastor Emertius of New Hanover Lutheran Church, and was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

She and her husband, Terry Wyrick, owned and operated Buchanan-Wyrick Jewelry Store in Corbin for many years until her retirement and her moves to New Hanover, Pa., and then to North Carolina.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Michael Golden, Jackie was born and raised in Barbourville. She was educated at Barbourville City Schools and Union College.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Flora Golden Lucas, Grace Golden Voorhees, Ruby Hollifield George and brother A.T. Epperson.

Survivors include her nephews:  J. G. Hollifield and his wife, Barbara, of Corbin; John A. Lucas and his wife, Sammie, Michael Voorhees; several great-nieces and nephews; a loving caregiver, Flossie Johnson of North Carolina and four special friends:  Ruth Dillon, Verneda Sturgill, Cathy Prewitt and Jan Bolding, of Corbin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Kings Mountain, N.C. with pastor Hobby Outen of Ressurection Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain, N.C.
