Jawanda Hensley

CORBIN — Jawanda R. Hensley, 74, of Corbin, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Baptist Regional Medical Center.

She was the daughter of the late Noah Paul and Rachel Phillips White, born Dec. 8, 1936, in Knox County. She was a housewife and a homemaker and a member of the Park Hill Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Noah Paul White; mother, Rachel Phillips White; brother, Robert (Bobby) White; and sister, Freda Hickey.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Thurston Hensley; sons, Steve Hensley (Judith), of Flat Lick, Allen Hensley, of Pleasant View, Darrell Hensley, of London, and Mark Hensley (Teresa), of Corbin; daughter, Jackie Hensley Wilbanks (Rick), of Corbin; sisters, Norma Martin, of Corbin, and Joyce Ellison, of Corbin; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

To the family of Jawanda R. Hensley, the staff of the Corbin Funeral Home would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy during your time of bereavement.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Corbin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Watkins and Rev. Darrell Mason officiating. Rev. Craig Thomas will be the speaker. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Hensley, Matthew Hensley, Anthony Tyler, Joshua Hensley, Ryan Prewitt and Kevin Green.

The family of Jawanda R. Hensley will receive friends today (Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011), from 6-9 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.

Corbin Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements, Byron L. Schiesz, director.
