Raymond Keltner

CORBIN — Raymond Keltner, age 98 years, of the Sano Road community, Columbia, Ky., passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at 11:38 p.m. at Veterans Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born on May 15, 1915, in Gradyville.

He was the son of the late Phillip Hayden and Amanda Bell Bragg Keltner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Turner Keltner, on July 28, 2003, a grandson, Mark Keltner; and 11 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by three sons: Rayburn Keltner and his wife Debbie, of Science Hill, Dennis Keltner and his wife Rita, of Campbellsville, and George Hayden Keltner and his wife Linda, of Vacaville, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Brad Keltner, Brandon Keltner, Lisa Rowlett, Anita Proffitt, John Keltner, Rachel Moats, Jason Keltner and Timothy Keltner; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive.

He was a retired farmer, was a World War II veteran, served in the U. S. Army, participated in the battles of Philippine Liberation, Luzon New Guinea, and a member of Gradyville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Clergy officiating will be the Rev. David Kemp and Bro. Herbert Janes.

Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery with full Military Honors by local VFW Post 6097. Friday.

Pallbearers will be Brad Keltner, Brandon Keltner, Johnny Keltner, Hunter Keltner, Larry Proffitt and Jeremy Moats

Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
