Maude Davenport, 97, of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday Feb. 2, 2014, at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Williamsburg. She was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Whitley County to the late Sam Beams and the late Sarah Powers Beams.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Smith Davenport, a daughter-in-law, Linda Davenport, five sisters and one brother.
She is survived by a son, Sam Davenport, of Pleasant Hill, Mo., a granddaughter, Sherrie Davis (Tony), of Maple Valley, Wash., two great-grandchildren, Nicole Davis and Aaron Davis, both of Maple Valley, Wash., several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lester Cox officiating. Following the service she will be laid to rest in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Pleasant View.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel.
