Corinne Dale

CORBIN — Corinne Evelyn Calder Dale, age 90, went to be with her Lord on Nov. 26, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elmer Curtis Dale Jr.; a son, Michael Curtis Dale and his wife Deborah; and three brothers, Bruce, of Saraland, Ala., Robert, of Irvine, Burlyn and his wife Nina, of Corbin, and a sister-in-law, Carmella, of Corbin.

Corinne was the daughter of the late Dallas Graham Calder and Catherine Gregory Calder. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dallas, Denver, Roy Denton and Wayne Calder, and one sister, Burlene Calder. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, SSgt Willard J. Clouse who died at Normandy.

Corinne was born and raised in Laurel County. She has since lived in Louisville, Nashville and Bowling Green. She was a graduate of Felts High School and Sue Bennett College, and attended Asbury and Union Colleges. She taught elementary school in Laurel and Jefferson counties. She later instilled her love of learning in her son. Corinne loved homemaking, reading and gardening.

We would like to thank her loving caregivers at Massey Springs Assisted Living and Dr. Amy Spader.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Asbury University, Felts Chapel UMC in Corbin, or the Salvation Army.
